The St. Stephen’s Mystagogy Program begins the third part in our five part series, a ten-week tour through Dante’s epic spiritual poem, The Divine Comedy. An imaginative vision of hell, purgatory, and heaven, this ranks with the greatest narrative works ever written. It’s a holy and powerful work that can change your life and re-energize your spiritual journey.
As with any great work, The Divine Comedy is not easy. The more time you spend working the Cantos, the more you will get out of them, and our discussions together. We will be using the most accessible translation of the work, by John Ciardi. It is highly recommended that everyone buy this particular version of the text so we can literally be on the same page. You can buy a copy of the book on Amazon here.
Along with being a spiritual classic, The Divine Comedy is great literature, and many people have found themselves stumbling into faith while unpacking it as a whopping good tale.
