This week we launch a month in the company of the Church’s great Doctor of Prayer, St. Teresa of Avila. We begin by reading the famous metaphor of the soul as a garden from her autobiography. With Don Quixote, The Book of Her Life is still considered to be the greatest work of Spanish letters. Please prepare for our discussion by reading Chapters 11-15. Here is a link to an online edition of the book if you don’t have your own copy. (But you really should have a copy in your personal library. It’s an amazing work… and a classic… and we are only going to scratch the teeniest part of it in this course…)
Thank you again for your gracious support and enthusiasm for this new initiative.
Best to you and yours as we close out this beautiful month of Our Lady!
